Oh right, I joined the family business and everything was fine for a little while, however I still had that thought of wanting to travel the world and do amazing things.
Two years and a devastating relationship that broke my heart later, I did it, my cousin and I bought a ticket to Sydney, Australia, leaving in January 2011.
Nothing had changed, I was still having a Bella Vita – the time of my life, or sort of, surrounded by beautiful friends and as close to my family as ever, but that wasn’t enough. That 16,000 inhabitants town was becoming a little too tight and my very-stubborn-self had to wear her big girl pants and go see what a big city looked life.
Everyone thought I would make my way back home within 3 months and, as much as I hate to admit it, I cried most days during those first 3 months, but I was too proud to go back with my tail between the legs… and I didn’t go back until a year a half later, and only because the Australian Immigration Department gave me 28 days to leave the country. But that’s a story for another day.
So there you have it, my why was not just one reason: ambition, broken heart, wanting to prove that I could make it on my own, curiousity.
That’s when the next chapter of Bella Vita started.
