On 14th November we’ve finally welcomed into our lives our healthy baby boy Dom Dom. The weeks leading up to the birth day, and the first few that followed, were challenging both physically and mentally.
If you have been reading my previous posts, you will know that I didn’t have an easy pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum, which I had to live with all the way through to the operating table literally.
I was given bucket-loads of medications to manage the nausea during and after the surgery, plus I had to deal with a post-partum hemorrhage which was managed with medications that, guess what, caused nausea as a side effect. As a cherry on top, I had to take antibiotics for 10 days which basically broke my stomach.
Thankfully, I am finally seeing the light and feeling better… most days.
Some might tell you that pregnancy and birthing can be hard, but no one really tells you why exactly. Sleep deprivation is the least of your concerns, trust me. Hormones can make your mood do weird stuff… but to what extent? I can tell you from personal experience that it can be next level and out of control.
It’s true what they say, each pregnancy is different. In fact, I didn’t experience any of this with Sydney and I had the easiest recovery you can possibly have.
